The Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford in 1903, in Detroit, Michigan.
The following year it set up a factory directly across the Detroit River, in Ontario, Canada, to make and sell vehicles not only in Canada but across the British Empire.
The first Ford cars to reach Australia came in kit form from Canada in 1909, and were assembled here. In 1925 the Ford Motor Company of Australia Limited (known as Ford Australia) was founded as a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company of Canada, with headquarters in Geelong, Victoria. On 1 July, in an improvised factory in a converted wool store, the first Australian-built Ford vehicle was completed: a Model T.
The company built a permanent Geelong factory that produced various models over the years, and in 1956 opened a second complex in Broadmeadows, which became its headquarters in 1961. Ford manufacturing in Australia ended in 2016.
Ford Australia continues to lead design and development of the Ranger utility and Everest SUV models, and imports vehicles for Australian buyers.
The medallion's reverse presents an illustration of the Model T Ford 1925 & The Ford Ranger 2025 . As well as the inscription "Celebrating Ford 100 Years in Australia", the reverse also incorporates the 'Ford 100 Years' logo.
The medallion housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin's reverse and obverse designs.
Fixed to the envelope are 2 official Australia Post $1.70 stamps which is post marked First Day of Issue and the envelope includes Australia Post's Seal of Authenticity.
