2026 $1 Year of the Horse Quadrant 1oz Silver Proof Coloured Four-Coin Set
The Quadrant Horse set consists of four coins that each comprise one quarter of a circle. When arranged together the coins form a circle with a square in the centre reminiscent of the first currency of the Chinese empire. These 'ban liang' coins were first case during the Qin Dynasty around 200BCE.
The Horse is significant in traditional Chinese culture as one of the 12 animals that participated in the Emperor's Great Race, held to determine the order of their appearance in the lunar calendar.
In pursuit if the fifth plced dragon, the free-spirited horse galloped towards the finish line with determination.
In a sudden twist, the horse was startled by the snake who emerged from hiding under its hoof causing it to lurch back.
Despite the setback, the resilient horse claimed seventh place.
Those born under the sign of the Chinese Lunar Horse in 2026, 2014, 2002, 1990 and every 12th preceding year are said to be independent, charismatic and love a sense of adventure.
Being passionate and spirited, they are gifted with natural charm and an ability to inspire others.
Each 1oz silver proof piece celebrates the Year of the Horse ;

The right-hand coin depicts a chestnut-coloured horse galloping along a country walk.
