The Perth Mint has released this beautifully crafted 1oz silver coloured coin celebrating the Australian outback.

Australia's vast and rugged outback is a land of awe-inspiring natural beauty, steeped in rich history and cultural significance. 

The continent spans a staggering 7.68 million square kilometres, an area comprising deep canyons, arid desert, lush rainforests, and stunning coastlines.

Australia is home to between 600,000 and 700,000 species of wildlife, many of which are found only in Australia, making the Australian outback one of the world's mot precious national treasures.

Celebrating Australia's wondrous wildlife species, the coin features a vibrant montage of outback landscape.

The coin's reverse showcases a dynamic scene from outback Australia. Clockwise from the right, a dingo howls from its rocky perch, a crocodile looms as it raises its head from the water, two kangaroos pause to drink from the riverbed, and a frilled-neck lizard rests on a nearby rock.
Above a powerful wedge-tailed eagle soars with four companions following in formation. In the distance, emus stride across a mountainous landscape, gazing toward the horizon.

In the foreground of the design is beautifully coloured Australian native flora, including Sturts Desert Peas and poached egg daisies.

Additional coloured elements include the horizon and the frilled-neck lizard resting on the rocks.

The design al features The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark and 2026 year-date.

The coin's obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III as well as the coin's weight, purity and monetary denomination, encircled by a rich display of corals and flora.
