2026 $1 Stranger Things - Hawkins Gold Plated Collectors Coin in Card

Created by Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things debuted in July 2016 and quickly became one of Netflix' most popular television series ever.

Rooted in 80's nostalgia, it has sparked resurgence of pop culture items from the decade with every new season, including Eggo waffles and New Coke.

Hawkins may look like an ordinary small town, by Stranger Things quickly reveals the cracks beneath its quiet surface.

Lurking in the Upside Down beneath Hawkins is the Mind Flayer, a towering hive-mind entity that aims to terrorize Hawkins.

Most recently, the series breathed new life into Kate Bush's track "Running Up That Hill" with the song soaring streams on Spotify and entering the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in its 38-year history.

The series has also gathered over 70 awards worldwide including Emmys and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and has been nominated for over 230 awards. 

The coin's coloured reverse depicts the town of Hawkins with the Mind Flayer in the background, the section in grayscale is to depict the Upside Down.

Also included in the design is the 'STRANGER THINGS' logo along with the inscription 'HAWKINS' and The Perth Mint's 'P' Mintmark.

The coin's obverse portrays the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the weight, purity, monetary denomination, and 2026 year-date.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the 2026 Stranger Things - Hawkins Gold Plated Collector's Coin in Card.
