2026 $1 Stranger Things - Friends Don't Lie 1oz Silver Coloured Coin

Created by Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things debuted in July 2016 and quickly became one of Netflix' most popular television series ever.

Rooted in 80's nostalgia, it has sparked resurgence of pop culture items from the decade with every new season, including Eggo waffles and New Coke.

Most recently, the series breathed new life into Kate Bush's track "Running Up That Hill" with the song soaring streams on Spotify and entering the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in its 38-year history.

The series has also gathered over 70 awards worldwide including Emmys and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and has been nominated for over 230 awards. 

The coin's coloured reverse portrays each of the main characters including Eleven, Mike, Dustin Will and Lucas set against a faded coloured background and framed by a coloured ring.

The design includes the inscription 'FRIENDS DON'T LIE' and the 'Stranger Things' logo, along with The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.

The coin's obverse portrays the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the weight, purity, monetary denomination, and 2026 year-date.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 3,000 of the 2026 Stranger Things - Friends Don't Lie 1oz Silver Coloured Coins.
