2026 $1 Hello Kitty & My Melody Coin & Stamp Cover PNC 

The Perth Mint has just released this Stamp and Coin Cover featuring Hello Kitty and My Melody.

Hello Kitty is a globally recognised character created by the Japanese company Sanrio in 1974, designed by illustrator Yuko Shimizu.

Over the years, Sanrio has expanded Hello Kitty's universe by introducing many other adorable 'kawaii', characters, continuing to capture the hearts of fans worldwide.

Hello Kitty and My Melody share a sweet and enduring friendship that dates back to the 1970's, making My Melody one of Hello Kitty's earliest friends.
Hello Kitty is known for her warm, friendly nature, while My Melody is gentle, kind, and loves baking and caring for others. 
Since their early days, the two have been shown together in many Sanrio stories and designs, supporting each other and creating happy memories.
Their long-standing friendship is built on kindness, trust, and shared joy, making them a beloved pair for fans around the world.

The coloured reverse of the coin portrays Hello Kitty wearing pink overalls and the iconic red bow on her head, with My Melody dressed in her signature red hood that covers her ears, with one ear folded down in a cute and playful way.

The design is set against a background of stars and dots and includes the inscriptions 'HELLO KITTY AND FRIENDS' and © 2026 SANRIO.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin's reverse and obverse designs.

On the obverse, the coin bears the Jody Clarke effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and monetary domination.

Fixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post stamp which is post marked First Day of Issue and the envelope includes Australia Post's Seal of Authenticity.
