The Perth Mint has released the stunning 2026 Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coloured Coin, featuring one of Australia’s most loved marsupials.

Beloved the world over, our signature coin series celebrates one of Australia's most emblematic native animals. The coin's high relief reverse portrays a coloured representation of two kangaroos leaping across the water. The background features water ripples and splashes with a mountain landscape in the distance. 

A privy mark with the number 40, pays tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Australian Nugget, the first official Australian legal tender gold coin series.

As well as the inscription 'KANGAROO', the design includes the coin's weight, purity, 2026 year-date and The Perth Mint's 'P' Mintmark.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% of pure silver in proof quality, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The coin’s obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III.

The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

Each coin is housed in a classic grey presentation case within an illustrated shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
