2025 $2 Fate - The Moirai 2oz Silver Antiqued High Relief Coin

The Perth Mint is pleased to present a new coin series, Fate - The Moirai 2025 2oz Silver Antiqued High Relief Coin.

In the tapestry of Greek mythology, the Fates - known as the Moirai - are three ancient Goddesses who personify destiny. These powerful sisters are Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, each playing a pivotal role in the life of every mortal and divine being.

Clotho, the spinner, weaves the thread of life, representing birth and the myriad of paths one might take. 

Lachesis, the allotter, measures the thread, determining the length and events of an individuals life.

Lastly, Atropos, the inflexible, cuts the thread, signifying the inevitable end that comes to all.

Together, they ensured the natural order was maintained, uncontested even by Zeus himself, the king of the gods.

In ancient Greece, the Moirai were revered as symbols of life's unpredictability and the power of fate over human affairs.

The design portrays the three ancient goddesses, each draped in a Chiton and holding a rope symbolising the thread of life. They are depicted within a serene Greek grove, enveloped by foliage and blossoms. 

The obverse portrays the Jody Clark effigy of HIs Majesty King Charles III, as well as the coin's weight, purity and monetary denomination, and year-date.

Each coin has been 'antiqued' by hand to give it a unique finish conveying the surface abrasions of an aged artefact. As a result of this treatment the appearance of other coins in the limited mintage may vary.

Each coin is housed in a vibrant, coloured box, within a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
