The Perth Mint along with Australia Post have released this latest Chinese New Year Coin & Stamp Cover.
Chinese New Year is one of the most important celebrations for Chinese people across the globe.
It is a time for families to reunite, as well as honour deities and ancestors. According to Chinese folktale, the Chinese dragon is used to scare away a ferocious monster named 'Nian' and believed to bring good luck in the new year.
The reverse of the coin features a coloured representation of a Chinese dragon with fireworks in the background. Also included in the design are the Chinese characters, a common phrase said to wish one a Happy New Year and The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' Mintmark.
Issued as Tuvalu legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin's reverse and obverse designs.
The coin's obverse features the Jody Clark effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, date and the monetary denomination.
Fixed to the envelope are two official Australia Post stamps which are post marked First Day of Issue and the envelope includes Australia Post's Seal of Authenticity.
