The coin’s reverse incorporates a circular panel featuring an elegant snake detailed in pure Australian opal.

Struck elements include intricate patterning with stylised depictions of jasmine, a plant said to attract snakes. 

The design includes the inscription YEAR OF THE SNAKE, the 2025 year-date and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ Mintmark. The coin’s obverse features the Daniel Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.
