The Perth Mint has released the stunning 2025 Australian Kangaroo 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coloured Coin, featuring one of Australia’s most loved marsupials.

Beloved the world over, our signature coin series celebrates one of Australia's most emblematic native animals. The coin's high relief reverse portrays a kangaroo lying on the ground, in a restful position that helps it conserve energy during the hottest part of the day. 

A bounding kangaroo and a grass tree appear in the background. As well as the inscription 'KANGAROO', the design includes the coin's weight, purity, 2025 year-date and The Perth Mint's 'P' Mintmark.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% of pure silver in proof quality, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The coin’s obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charless III.

The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

Each coin is housed in a classic grey presentation case within an illustrated shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
