The Perth Mint is pleased to present the Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle 2025 1oz Silver Enhanced Reverse Proof Ultra High Relief Coin.

Names for its long, distinctively shaped tail, the wedge-tailed eagle is Australia's largest bird of prey and one of the biggest eagles in the world. With an impressive wingspan of up to 2.5m, it can also be recognised by its powerful legs which are feathered all the way to its feet.

With the ability to fly tirelessly for many hours, the majestic wedge-tailed eagle frequently reaches altitudes of 2,000 meters and beyond on thermal air currents rising from Australia's sun-baked terrain.

Sculptued for The Perth Mint by renowned US engraver, John M. Mercanti, the coin's reverse features the wedge-tailed eagle with outstretched wings. Reflecting its formidable hunting skills, the artistry highlights the bird's large and superbly effective eyes and a large hooked beak. 

As well as the inscription 'ASUTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE' and The Perth Mint's 'P' Mintmark, the reverse also includes the coin's weight, fineness and 2025 year-date.

The coin's ultra high relief reverse is minted on a concave surface to ensure optimum flow of the material is achieved by the strike of the die.

No more than 3,000 of these coins will be released worldwide.

Each coin is housed in a grey display case within a themed shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
