The dragon commands the highest respect in Chinese culture. For thousands of years, it was associated with the emperor and his descendants, symbolising wisdom, enlightenment, and benevolence.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 3,888 of the Australian Lunar Series III 2024 Year of the Dragon 1/2oz 10 Coin Sets.
The coin's reverses features the nine coloured dragons with a dragon and a flaming pearl. Entirely coated in fine gold, the 10th coin features a forward facing dragon with water cascading from its mouth.
Included in the design is the Chinese character for 'dragon' the inscription 'Year of the Dragon 2024' and a 'P125" mintmark signifying the Perth Mint's 125th anniversary.
The coin bears the Jody Clark Memorial Obverse of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign '1952 -2022', as well as the weight, fineness and monetary denomination.
The coins are presented in an impressive black presentation case and shipper with a stand for upright display. Along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
