2022 Megapodes of Australia Limited Edition Commemorative Medallion.Issued by Australia Post to celebrate the Megapodes of Australia.This Orange-footed Scrubfowl is the smallest of the Australian Megapodes, is found in coastal regions of northern Australia, frequenting rainforests, mangroves and monsoon forest. This bird has a head crest, grey-brown plumage, orange legs and feet and an orange-yellow beak.Both sexes build the huge mound, which can reach 4.5 metres in height and 15 metres in diameter, and which sometimes accommodates more than one breeding pair, producing large numbers of hatchlings each season.Post marked First Day of Issue 7th June 2022.
