Zebra Finches populate harsh, arid environments, however when there is rain, they respond with a mating frenzy. They are monogamous, meaning they mate for life. Social birds, Zebra Finches have been seen in flocks of up to 500 birds. They are also known for their song and can make quite a racket, particularly when in large flocks.
