I is for Irukandji Jellyfish – understood to be the world’s smallest and most venomous jellyfish, Irukandji refers to about 16 individual species.

Attracted to warmer waters, Irukandji populate waters off Australia’s northern coast and are difficult to see thanks to their small size and transparent bodies.

It is thought that their venom is 1000 times stronger than that of a tarantula. Yikes!
