2021 $2 Australia's Firefighters Coin & Stamp Cover PNC.This postal numismatic cover pays tribute to the nation's brave firefighters, who battled blazes during the unprecedented Australian bush fire season of 2019-2020.Exceptionally dry conditions, exacerbated by climate change, led to hundreds of fires, mainly in the eastern part of the continent.The catastrophic fires burned more than 17 million hectares, destroyed more than 3,000 houses, leaving many people homeless and killed 34 people, including nine firefighters.Around three billion animals were killed or displaced, with some species likely driven to extinction.
