2016 5c 50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency Uncirculated Coin

This is the first time ever that a circulating coin obverse has been changed. It is a first time that different wording has appeared on a circulating coin obverse. It is the first time a commemorative design has been applied to the 5 and 10 cent coins. 

This is the first time all 6 coins will have a commemorative design all at the same time! Issued to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Decimal Currency, this coin features a smaller-than-usual portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with a stylised reproduction of the old Half Penny – just one of the coins replaced in the 1966 changeover.

Announced in February 2016, this commemorative 5c coin will be issued for circulation, even better news, the in following months, several more coins containing the different pre-decimal coins will be released.
