The tiger is a large cat native to parts of Asia, India and Russia. Fully grown tigers can weigh in excess of 136kgs and measure more than 3 metres in length. Female tigers give birth about once every two years.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver to proof quality, each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The Cubs – Tiger Cubs 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Coins. The coin’s reverse features two coloured tiger cubs playing in the grass in front of a ruined fortress.

The inscription CUBS and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ Mintmark also appear. The coin’s obverse features the Ian rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date and the monetary denomination.
