2015 ANZAC 1/2oz Silver Coin & Stamp Set.

In April 1915, just eight months after Britain declared war on Germany on 4 August 1914, soldier from Australia and New Zealand – organised into the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) – landed on the Gallipoli peninsula, with the aim of assisting in the allied effort to command the Dardanelles and to knock Ottoman Turkey out of the war.

They fought long and hard alongside the British and French Troops. Eventually realising the campaign was futile, British command ordered the evacuation of allied forces, and the Australian and New Zealand soldiers departed in December 1915.

The 2015 ANZAC Coin and Stamp Set comprises of two 1/2oz proof coins, an Australia Post official stamp, and a New Zealand Post official stamp.

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz pure 99.9% silver, and issued as legal tender under the currency act of each country.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the 2015 ANZAC 1/2oz Silver Coin and Stamp Sets.

The reverse of the Australian coin and stamp features the silhouettes of an Australian and a New Zealand soldier against the rugged hills of the Gallipoli peninsula at Anzac Cove in colour. IT also feature sprigs of Golden Wattle, the monetary denomination and the words ‘ANZAC’ and ‘Australia’.The reverse of the New Zealand coin and stamp features the silhouettes of an Australian and a New Zealand soldier against the beach at ANZAC Cover in colour.It also features fronds of Silver Fern, the monetary denomination and the words ‘ANZAC’ and ‘New Zealand’.The obverse of each coin features the Ian Ran-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the date 2015.The 2015 ANZAC 1/2oz Silver Coin & Stamp Set is housed in a contemporary, clear latex display case with a black frame.

The display case is packaged within a custom themed, illustrated shipper and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
