The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D coin’s reverse features a colour image of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC_1701-D flying through space as it appeared in the television series Star Trek : The Next Generation. The design includes the inscription STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION U.S.S. ENTERPRISE NCC-1701-D, along with the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ Mintmark, weight and fineness.The obverse of each coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination and the 2015 year-date. When these two coins are purchased individually, both are presented in a Star Trek inspired display case.The two-coin set is packaged in a case designed to look like a Star Trek Transporter. The Captain Jean-Luc Picard coin sits inside and when the ‘door’ of the Transporter is opened, a light comes on so that the Captain appears to be teleporting.The U.S.S.
