Following on from the previous four releases the 5th and final release in this exciting series features the German Shepherd – ‘Police Dog’.

The final coin in the series features the German Shepherd, also known a the Alsatian, it is a large-sized dog originating from Germany.

The German Shepherd is considered a relatively new breed with its inception dating back to 1899.

This intelligent canine is a working dog, originally developed for herding sheep, but because of its loyalty, strength and obedient nature, it is often employed by the police and military.

The coin's reverse features an adult German Shepherd and a puppy in colour. 

The design includes the silhouettes of policemen, a helicopter, car and a dog, as well as a decorative paw prints.
