2004 50c Student Design Uncirculated Coin in RAM Card

The Royal Australian Mint held a competition for Primary School students across the nation to find a design for a new Australian 50c coin.

The winning design was created by John Serrano, of St Peter's Primary School, Keilor East Victoria.

A unique appreciation of Australia, the design features three examples of the nation's distinctive wildlife - the Wombat, the Koala and the Lorikeet.

A truly eye-catching reverse, it was chosen from nearly 2,600 submissions from all over the country.

A genuine Australian legal tender release, struck to the Royal Australian Mint's uncirculated quality, the obverse of the 2004 Student Design 50c features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
