Nicknamed 'the Duke', he was a staple of the Western film genre and starred in, directed and produced more than 170 movies in a career spanning 50 years.Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the John Wayne 2020 1oz Silver Proof Coins.The coin's reverse features a coloured image of John Wayne wearing his trademark cowboy hat and bandana against a rural Western backdrop.
